The growth mindset is also known as the positive side of situations, rather than the fixed mindset. People with a fixed mindset aren’t necessarily negative people, but they react to situations differently which don’t benefit them as much.
For the growth mindset, it is in the name. “Growth,” to grow and learn new things. If someone with a growth mindset got a bad grade on a test, they would be motivated to improve and keep learning. However, someone with a fixed mindset might compare their grade with other students. If someone has a worse grade, that’s all they need to feel better. For the growth mindset, an example of perseverance would be to keep going and stick to the plan. If I have to walk to the grocery store down the block, and the rain is blowing strongly towards me, I will keep walking. Each step may be hard as I’m being pushed back, but I’ll keep going. And I won’t give up. by Chad Coburn
